The GMU Postdoctoral Scientific Research Workstation for Clinical Medicine was set up on March 26, 2001. It is the first postdoctoral fellowship in Guangxi's institutes of higher education. Secretary of the CPC GMU committee and the president of the university serve as the directors of the administrative board of the workstation. Under the board, there is an office in charge of daily work. In order to improve the working and living conditions for the researchers, GMU allocates 35,000 yuan RMB for each postdoctoral researcher to cover his living expense every year, and 30,000 yuan RMB for research at the station (exclusive of the outlay for applications for research projects and the outlay for cooperative tutors). There are one self-contained apartment of over 70 square meters for each postdoctoral researcher. They are eligible to enjoy some privileges that their spouses will be given jobs and their children will be sent to the GMU-run kindergarten or schools. Outstanding postdoctoral researchers with stipulated conditions at home and abroad are welcome to GMU for postdoctoral scientific researches.
